Great news for all filmmakers of Balochistan — Official registration begins at the Culture Department Balochistan. B-Art Foundation and Pawal Films’ efforts, along with Secretary Sohail-ur-Rehman and especially Aftab Jubbal, have borne fruit.
Quetta (Masail News Reporter):
A historic and promising development has emerged for artists associated with Balochistan’s film industry. Thanks to the efforts of B-Art Foundation and the tireless struggle of renowned artist and leader Aftab Jubbal, the Artist Welfare Fund Committee has decided to officially register actors, directors, and producers belonging to the film category with the Culture Department of Balochistan.
This decision was made during the Welfare Fund Committee’s meeting held on August 27, 2025, chaired by the Secretary of Culture, Tourism, and Archaeology, Government of Balochistan. The meeting was attended by the Director of Culture Balochistan, General Manager PTV Quetta, Station Director Radio Pakistan Quetta, and other permanent and co-opted members.
According to the decision, filmmakers participating in any cultural, national, or international events will now be provided with official permission letters from the Culture Department, allowing them to be part of such programs in an official capacity.
This remarkable achievement is the result of the insightful leadership and tireless efforts of Mr. Sohail-ur-Rehman, Secretary of B-Art Foundation, who not only had the filmmakers’ category formally recognized but also consistently raised his voice on all relevant forums for their official registration.
In a statement issued by B-Art Foundation, it was said:
> “We are deeply grateful to Secretary Sohail-ur-Rehman, who has taken this historic step for people associated with the film industry. Through his efforts, a long-neglected category has now been granted formal recognition, which is a new message of hope and encouragement for artists.”
